Didja think we’d forgotten about you? Don’t blame you honestly. Truth is I’ve been very busy with my professional life (wot? you’re not retired yet?) and despite Christy’s gentle nudging haven’t found enough time to sit down to write this. Hopefully we will get back on track soon – otherwise I will have to start blaming the weather.
There’s so much going on in the washing machine and we’ve felt like we haven’t reported on it but it’s so wild that last week’s craziness is overshadowed by this week’s! (That’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it.)
Social Tomorrow
I’ve been so busy I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since the last social! Well, here’s a reminder there’s a social at the Huntsville Canadian Legion downtown Huntsville, tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7 PM. The last one was well attended and lively with the local federal candidates doing a meet ‘n’ greet upstairs. Just us and the regulars I think this week.
No DOGE for Huntsville
In a truly bizarre move our favourite councilor Bob Stone (hard to convey sarcasm in an email sometimes) stuck his neck out and swore to boycott Huntsville Wine & Beer as long as the owner kept his DOGE sign on his building. Sooo, let me get this straight Bob – if anyone should have the temerity to threaten public funding, you intend to threaten their private funding. Remind me again where the public funding comes from?

Speak up for Natural Health Products
We’ve mentioned this a few times, how Health Canada, funded by Big Pharma, proposes to remove the exclusions enjoyed by NHPs and so force them to go through the same process as any other drug before they can be sold in Canada. The Natural Health Product Protection Association (NHPPA) has a mission to pressure MPs to restore NHPs to their rightful place so the 82% of Canadians who rely on them can continue to do so. From the I Didn’t See That Coming Department
Of all places, the UK Supreme Court has ruled that men who identify as transgender women are not women. Who woulda guessed? Still pretty pathetic this has to go to court, but a bit of a win anyway.
This in a country where (I think the stat is) 20 people a day jailed for their FB posts.
In Case You Needed More Proof …
… that the justice system is broken in Canada. The Crown is seeking 2 years imprisonment for Chris Barber and Tamara Lich after the country’s longest mischief trial. Read it here.
… and the government wants more control of your property. Tiny Township is about to pass a bylaw preventing homeowners from doing anything to their property other than gardening and weeding unless they have a paid-for permit. This even made the National Post under the banner Tiny Township returns to Serfdom.
… that we’ve been on the wrong track. Policy Horizons Canada is predicting a collapsed economy and total societal collapse by 2040 if we don’t change course. I posted this on the Doppler behind a Liberal’s call for a new Liberal majority. Just trying to see if anyone notices.

We don’t like highlighting that kind of negative news so thought we would show you something a little lighter. ‘Course, we’ve now lost all respect for Mike Myers, and I’m afraid I lost all respect for Neil Young back in COVID days.
