We were going to send out an update last week saying … no update this week but thought we didn’t need to annoy you with nothing. Better to annoy you with something. Apologies, we were tied up last week and tried but just couldn’t get it done. I think that may be the second one we’ve missed in two years.
So we’ve packed this one full of stuff.
23andMe Files for Bankruptcy
Many have long warned about giving your DNA to third parties and now perhaps that is a warning that should have been heeded. Once a tech darling, 23andMe is now a garbage stock due to a highly flawed business model (no one ever needed to do the test more than once). So what happens to the DNA samples of more than 15 million people? They could be sold in the Chapter 11 process perhaps and the confidentiality of those DNA samples would be governed by the agreement people signed when they hooked up (spit up?). A 23andMe spokesperson did mention a partnership with pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, or GSK, which has been analyzing the data to try to find medical breakthroughs. 23andMe says 80% of customers opted into this kind of research when they signed up.
Medical breakthroughs. Yup, heard that before.
2025 – The Year of Solutions for Sovereignty
OK, we love the ThriveAll community and love this video with Didi talking about the year of 2025 in a hopeful manner (more on hope in a minute). Kinda like Tish Conlin’s White Pill idea. This is the stuff that makes you wanna get up in the morning.

I know, I know, we said we don’t get political or endorse specific people/parties but I’m putting this down under the “providing information to concerned citizens column”. Wow. This video by Viva Frei interviewing Sam Cooper of The Bureau covers a lot of ground. It’s not particularly encouraging but it explains everything from Trump’s tariffs and discussions about Greenland, Canada and Panama to Carney’s rise as the new unelected Prime Minister of Canada. When Christy showed me the latest KFC video ad I said “No way is that a KFC commercial”. Rats, wrong again. You can just search for “weird KFC commercial” or see one site here. I kinda like that one because it’s from a US marketing firm who is just saying the ad is “playful” – then read the comments afterwards. I can’t see this ad lasting long. BTW, KFC (now closed in Huntsville) moved their HQ from Kentucky to Texas – should it now be called TFC? Or perhaps, given the ad content, “The Other White Meat”?

Next Social
OK, the Huntsville Canadian Legion is unanimously selected as the regular social venue. We were using the second Wednesday of every month as the social event night but we understand people want to meet every other week. Go figure. So the next social is April 9th, 7 pm at the Huntsville Legion. Hope to see you there!
